2009 In Review (What did I do?)

What happened in my life in 2009?
  1. Educational Consulting. I finished my contract at RT Fisher and Associates, where I created curriculum for a Middle School, designed programs for teacher support and development, and brainstormed about Education Services in gerneal
  2. Traveling to Ghana. Spent 7 weeks in Ghana, volunteering, traveling and immersing myself in the country. I taught teachers to teach and taught kids to play sports (basketball, dodgeball, follow the leader, steal the bacon, volleyball). I travelled to the Slave Dungeons, National Rainforest, Waterfall, Capitol of Accra, Trading Center of Kumasi, and spend some time on the beach of Ghana. Learned a local language, called Ewe, and local drumming. Met tons of people, and enjoyed myself.
  3. Spanish Teaching. Started a new job at Envision Academy of Arts and Technology. Teaching 2 courses. Helped with WASC process. Started a young black men's group, starting to implement a new Homework Accountability Program at school, building alliances and community with black staff and parents, taught an advisory of 11th Graders.
  4. Physical Fitness. Kept relatively in shape, working out at 24 hour fitness, working out on tree branches in Ghana, riding bikes, swimming in the river in Sacramento, hitting pullups on my bar at home, doing pushups, and playing basketball.
  5. Hip Hop Music. Finished up our first 4 promo songs. Had a performance at UC Berkeley in April, and a performance opening for Zion-I in September. Launched someofallparts.com
  6. Poetry. Got back into poetry. Wrote some new poems and music. Read a few times at the Air Lounge. Began thinking about publishing my book again.
